It’s hard following Chris’s posts when he’s with Julian because he is much better with words than I am. It’s funny because we took English 101 at community college together before we went to UGA, and he got in trouble for looking at my paper. I definitely am the worst person to cheat off of in English . I had a nice weekend home with the twins and got to do the trick or treating with them. It’s hard flip flopping to different lives but we’re doing the best we can to spread our selves between the two. We are trying to make the twins life as normal as possible. We picked out pumpkins for Halloween and got the ones Julian would have picked out. He always like the ones that looked different so the green and white pumpkins were for him. Julian has been doing great. Making progress which is good and we are on the spines time, not ours. He looks good, still doing awesome breathing on his own. His trach site is almost all healed and soon should be just a tiny reminder of this road we’re on. Lindsay and Chris keep working hard with getting more functional movement. The left arm is coming. That is my biggest prayer for him at this time. The difference in the previous video and this one is evidence in his progress. His movement looks more coordinated and less effort. He is also learning to use the arms to prop up and sit on his own. Love seeing him do things that were previously just dreams. I sometimes need to be reminded to see this process as a glass half full instead of half empty, but I’m blessed to have people that keep reminding of those positives. I love seeing his smile and thank everyone that helps do that for him.
We are very tired today as we stayed up watching the braves win the World Series. I was a senior in high school when this happened before and it was really cool to be here again when they did. It has been a great outlet for the patients here to watch together, we will miss the excitement of the games. Hopefully they will get to see some of the parade on Friday.
Go Braves!!!!
