6/3/3033 GRADUATION
He did it!! Its official, julian is a high school graduate!! Today was a very emotional day for so many reasons! No parent envisions their child’s senior year in high school to be one like Julian’s. Just after 3 short days of school starting, our world was forever changed! A 5 minute trip home from work changed Julian’s path in life in a split second. That night and course of events will forever be seared in my brain. It can not be unseen or undone unfortunately. Senior year abruptly took on a new direction. From the immediate accident and hospital stay, to shepherd center in Atlanta, and then home to try to bring some semblance of “normal” back to our life. Our main focus after rehab was for Julian to return to school and be able to graduate with his class as planned. He worked hard with the help of so many dedicated and loving people at school to achieve this goal. His teachers were wonderful adapting to Julian’s needs and we definitely could not have made it here without Sarah (his support person), Mrs. Berry, his teachers and amazing friends that all pushed and protected him along the way. When people say it takes an army, our story exemplifies this in spades! We have an incredible family and pack of friends that have supported us every single day! Thank you to all of those who have encouraged us from near and far. We could not have made it here without you. Although Julian was accepted to every school he applied to, college isn’t our next step. Frazier and the hope for more (whatever more looks like) will be his next step in just a little over a week. He may not have walked for his high school diploma, but there is still hope that maybe he will for college. For now we will rejoice in his accomplishments this far. He is loved my so many and another chapter is finishing only for the next to begin. I personally would love for this to be a short book), but as we’ve learned with spinal cord injuries that is far from the case. But we will continue to write his story as it comes). For now we will celebrate today! We know all too well that tomorrow isn’t a given and to be thankful for all we have. My sweet boy graduated
