Julian had done great being back at school all day every day. We are figuring out how to juggle it all and I did finally learn how to drive the big van. He is continuing to work hard. Now that we are not considered “homebound” because we are able to take him to school he no longer qualifies for the home PT/OT. They were great and think they helped julian continue to improve since we got home which was a big fear of mine. Now we are in the process of transitioning to an outpatient therapy clinic after school. It’s going to get hectic with our schedule but we will figure it out so he will continue to get great care. And we do have some promising options on the horizon due to a lot of research Kristen has done and found. We have learned through this process that not many people are versed in spinal cord injury and it helps to have friends that are on the same path and combining information. From day 1 the one thing we have asked of treatment for julian was to be aggressive. He is a 17 year old with his whole future ahead of himself. From a brief conversation, I think we have found the next step that aligns with the aggressive approach. Pray good thoughts that we will be lead in the right direction for julian. We’ve been on a steep learning curve with this hopefully doing the right things to maximize his recovery! Again we have been amazed by the generosity of others and will always be thankful and hope to pay it forward.
